While winter isn’t officially over yet, spring has definitely begun to make its welcomed debut in Southern California. We are enjoying longer days with extra sunshine and have happily embraced the shift towards warmer temperatures. Now that the weather has brightened up, it’s time to make the seasonal transition to spring in our homes.

Keep things cozy

Although the temperatures are rising, you still want to make sure your home has a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. It’s time to tuck away your heavy comforters and replace them with lighter and airier options. Swap out dark accents on your sofas, such as throw blankets and pillows, and opt for brighter pieces with a pop of texture and color. Keeping these layering pieces around your home will add personality to your living space and ensure that even when the temperatures drop at night, you can still be cozy and comfortable. If you’ve been burning candles all winter long, it’s a good time to switch over to an essential oil diffuser to keep your home smelling fresh and inviting but without the extra warmth from candles.

Bring in life

We believe that keeping house plants never go out of season, but if you’re new to the concept, spring is a great time to test your green thumb. This time of year, the nurseries are booming with new plants and picking them up during their prime season allows for an easier experience to care for them and keep them thriving. Adding a touch of life into your home in the form of plants allows for air purification and even mood improvement. Plus, with bright and sunny days ahead, you will have extra incentive to open up those curtains and let that sweet sunshine come pouring in to keep you and your plants happy.

Embrace florals

Springtime is all about florals. Don’t be afraid to add some extra color to your home’s exterior by planting a few pots of flowers along your walkway. If you’re looking for something low maintenance, a faux-floral wreath on your front door or freshly cut bouquets of flowers on your entry table is guaranteed to welcome you home in a cheery manner. If you’re open to going bold, using a temporary floral wallpaper to create an accent wall is a great way to completely change the look and feel of your room for the changing seasons. Looking to embrace the florals, but play it a little safer? Add fun printed throw pillows or fabrics into your home decor.
