Ventura sand art

Imagery provided by: Andres Amador

Enjoy the art of one of the most interesting artists in California on the Ventura coast. Using the sand for his canvas and the sea for his palette, Andres Amador uses but a single rake and his imagination to create stunning scenes that span the shore, sometimes longer than 100,000 feet. The tide and waves can wash away his work after a few minutes, truly reinforcing the notion that beauty can be fleeting, and to appreciate it while it lasts. The three days of art include a workshop, community art project, and a free demonstration of how to create your own sand art.
