Extreme couponing is not just a TV show. It’s a habit, an adventure, a way of life for shoppers around the world who want to stretch their buying power to the max.

Thousands of websites have been created to dispense advice for novice and would-be clippers. But all share some common tips. Here are a few:

  • Know where coupons are available: Print or electronic, there’s no end. Sunday newspaper inserts, direct mail from vendors, magazines, in-store dispensers, your email inbox, and online printable-coupon sites are great places to start. Some coupons can now be scanned at the register directly from your smartphone or tablet.
  • Look for sales: Save even more with coupons when items are on sale. Try not to waste them on full-price items.

Healthy eating in LA

Everyone wants to eat healthier. One of the problems with that is that even when we do put healthier foods on our shelves or in our refrigerators, they often come replete with chemicals and preservatives designed to keep them fresh during their transit from field to shipping warehouse to store shelves to your plate.

Home appraisal process

Most buyers and sellers know a home appraisal is required as part of a real estate transaction. Not all of them realize, however, that the appraisal’s results pretty much run the show. The only exception is an all-cash deal.

An appraisal is an unbiased professional opinion of a home’s worth. In all 50 states, home appraisers are required by law to be licensed or certified. Each appraisal encompasses a variety of factors. Typical data for a single-family home include recent sale prices of similar properties nearby, amenities, square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, floorplans, and condition of the property’s interior and exterior. Proximity to transportation and the community’s school district might even be factored in. Appraisers consider these and other information to determine the home’s fair-market value.
