Celebrate the rich diversity of African-American and African cultures at Aquarium of the Pacific’s 13th annual African-American Festival. The two-day event honoring Black History Month features live entertainment, arts and crafts, ethnic food, and other events the entire family can enjoy. Festival performers include Mardi Gras second-line dancers, hip-hop and break dancers, tap dancers, jazz musicians, interactive drum circles, West African dancers, and storytellers.

President’s Day coincides with the 72nd birthday of the USS Iowa, the West Coast’s only battleship open to the public. Celebrate the historic vessel’s special day pier-side with free cake after the morning opening ceremony featuring local dignitaries, veterans, exhibits, community booths, and food trucks. Then take an optional paid tour after the speeches wind up.
