With its rugged terrain and its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, Ventura County is home to some of the most magnificently scenic vistas found not only in Southern California, but also anywhere in the world. It’s getting close to the time of the year where the hearts of young and old alike seek out special places where they can share special moments with those special people close to them. The recently formed Ventura chapter of The Charitable Foundation raised more than $4,000 at its first event, a Bingo Extravaganza held in November at Unitarian Universalist Church of Ventura. More than 100 guests attended the event, which included a silent auction, food and beverages.
“The Ventura chapter is off to a great start supporting local organizations that focus on the community, education, health and the environment,” said Natalie M. Hill, director of the Sherman Oaks-based nonprofit foundation.
