Even as a boy, Brent Consedine had a passion for real estate. He felt deep down that he would work in the industry one day, and he was right. He not only has achieved his goal, but he also ignites his love of great homes and helping people find them in the agents he supervises as broker/manager of the Central San Diego, Mission Hills and Scripps Ranch offices of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and public relations from California State University, Fullerton, Brent went to work in the life-sciences industry, helping find suitable donors with rare blood types. “Recruiting has always been a major component of my career, and that certainly helps in my current position,” he said.
He earned a California real estate license in 1996 and made the permanent career switch in 2004. His instincts proved correct as he worked his way up to managing his offices’ approximately 100 agents. Offering them exceptional training and support is his personal passion.
“‘Passion is a word we use a lot in our offices,’” he said. “Something we definitely look for when interviewing agents is their passion about real estate and being totally client-focused. Passion is what’s going to get you through the challenging markets, gets you to work that extra hour for your clients.
“We build on that by creating the right culture that makes agents feel nurtured, supported and helps them grow. It’s remarkable how supportive and willing our agents are to assist one another. It’s a very collaborative group.”
On average, Brent’s offices host more than 60 classes each month in their 100-plus-seat training room as well as live webinars, recorded sessions, and “In the Field” classes that test and challenge new as well as experienced agents.
