The California Department of Real Estate (DRE) has an updated
“California Tenants” guidebook to help landlords and tenants understand their rights and responsibilities. It’s a great resource to give to your clients with landlord-tenant questions!
The “California Tenants” guidebook has easy-to-read text. The 146-page guidebook provides comprehensive information about screening applicants, security deposits, dealing with problems, moving out, and a host of other topics. It also provides a summary of the new California laws for 2025 (see pages 2 to 3).
