As 2021 comes to a close, we can’t help but reminisce on some of the most iconic properties represented by our agents this year. Hotel Santa Barbara Sells for $41.9 Million

The 75-room Hotel Santa Barbara, an iconic landmark property in the heart of the coastal city’s vibrant downtown, listed and sold in 2021 for $41.9 million.

“This boutique hotel is located in the well-traveled, world-famous Spanish Colonial Revival-themed Lower State Street corridor, five city blocks from Stearns Wharf and Santa Barbara Harbor,” said listing agent Aaron Valenty. “It is an incredible opportunity to own a piece of Santa Barbara history that has been lovingly updated as a premier destination surrounded by the best the city has to offer.”

The hotel has occupied this site since the mid-1800s, and after the 1925 earthquake that destroyed the prior hotel, the owner vowed never to lose another building to an earthquake. The new hotel, Santa Barbara, is constructed out of solid steel-reinforced poured concrete.

Baby Del, Coronado’s 134-year-old Victorian, seeks $24 million

A hundred steps to the sands of Coronado’s main beach, the “Baby Del” proudly stands as one of San Diego’s most magnificent Queen Anne Victorian landmarks. Its architecture is reminiscent of the Hotel del Coronado, located a few blocks away.
