A chance encounter at the Laguna Beach Historical Society led to Chas. Aufhammer opening and closing an escrow in two days on a five-unit apartment property owned by one family for more than 40 years in the Woods Cove area of Laguna Beach. Well-maintained, in original condition, and close to the beach, the property has seven single-car garages. Some tenants have lived in the complex for 15 to 22 years.

The owner was donating real estate historical items to the Society, and Chas. offered to help him carry some of them from the seller’s car to the Society building. Chas. followed up and listed the property. He used traditional marketing methods with the help of Melissa Margaretis of Pickford Escrow. A Laguna Beach private money lender funded the loan in two days. Chas., a REALTOR®-Broker Associate in our Laguna Beach office, has known the lender for 20 years. The property sold for $2.4 million.
