If you liked “The Duke” in “True Grit,” and want to help fund research for the John Wayne Cancer Foundation in Newport Beach, put on your spin clothes and saddle up for “Gritty Up.” This two-part event kicks off with a silent auction and party May 29 at Oak Grill at The Island Hotel, and concludes with a three-hour, instructor-lead fundraising spin session May 30 at GRIT Cycle. Ride solo or as part of a team, with all funds donated to the foundation. Whoever raises the most money wins a five-star trip to Fiji.

View some rollin’ blasts from the past in Old Town Camarillo the fourth Sunday of each month through October at the Sunday Cruise. Classic pre-1980 domestic vehicles will be on display during the day for oohing, aahing, and ogling, along with food, a beer garden, and live music. Every home is someone’s castle. But some are more regal than others. Here are a few extraordinary residential transactions our agents have been involved in recently:
Reality TV stars Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s two West Hollywood Hills homes were snapped up within two weeks of each other. The first was daughter Kelly’s 1961 contemporary, with 2,538 square feet of living space, which fetched $2 million. Next was daughter Aimee’s boxy contemporary next door, with 2,038 square feet, which went for $2.25 million. Both homes have backyard pools, spas, and two-car garages. Kirk Hoffman of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties’ Beverly Hills office represented the buyer.
