What do you get when you mix music, food, entertainment, and activities with a Western theme? The Cowboy Festival in Santa Clarita! This year will be the 22nd annual event which attracts more than 10,000 visitors annually. Attendees can enjoy musical acts from genres including Western, Rockabilly, Bluegrass, and Americana. Sit back and watch as performers stroll the streets to serenade attendees. Vendors will be serving Dutch oven and BBQ favorites with a focus on the flavors of Western heritage.

We are pleased to announce that our company, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, and more than 850 of our real estate agents were recognized during a special awards ceremony at our national sales convention, which was attended by top real estate professionals from the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This year’s convention took place March 22-24 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in San Diego’s Balboa Park will be rockin’ again for its second annual “Rock in the Park” live concert series. Singer/guitarist Michael Tiernan opens each performance on a low stage that puts audiences close to the bands. Folk-circuit favorites Berkley Hart Selis Twang play in April, followed by eclectic songster Steve Poltz in May. It’s standing-room only since shows are in the lobby. Food and drink are available for purchase; must be 21 or older. Ticket price includes admission to Science Center exhibits after doors open at 7 p.m.

Do you know that the guy who played R2-D2 in six “Star Wars” films has his footprints in cement outside the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood? Of course you do. That’s why you’re attending Star Wars Celebration, “the ultimate fan experience focused on a galaxy far, far away…” Dozens of actors, writers, producers, crew, and behind-the-scenes Lucasfilm types will be on hand for four days of panels, screenings, autograph sessions, costume-strutting, pin trading and…well, you know all the rest that goes on at this out-of-this-world event just a meteorite’s throw from the happiest place on this earth.

Who knew there were so many ways to judge a kite? Find out what they are at the 30th Annual Santa Barbara Kite Festival. Categories include most beautiful, largest, and highest-flying. Bring your own commercial or handmade kite, or buy one on site. There’ll be a kite-tail chase for kids, kite fighting and sport flying for skilled flyers, plus a large free-fly zone for all ages.
