The inaugural Rancho Santa Fe Garden Fair & Market was a blooming success thanks to some nurturing from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties. Our company was title sponsor of the Oct. 17 event honoring the Balboa Park Centennial.
The 100-year anniversary salute featured free landscape consulting, plant and garden gift sales, irrigation district rebates, horticulture presentations, children’s activities, a photo booth, and food trucks with refreshments available for purchase. Special guest presenter Thomas Herrera-Mishler, executive director of the Balboa Park Conservancy, gave a talk on the park’s efforts to incorporate sustainable landscaping techniques.
“Our company and agents recognize how much value the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Fair & Market brings to horticulture and conservation efforts in their community. It was our pleasure to help ensure the success of this much-appreciated event,” said David M. Cabot, our President and CEO.
“Our agents and staff strive to be involved members of the neighborhoods where they live and work. This event is another way we support our community.”
The free event organized by the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club was held at the Rancho Santa Fe Association/Community Center.

Hint: people skills, drive, dedication, and a passion to succeed are all part of the equation. Southern California beaches, bays, and lagoons sparkled brighter than usual Sept. 19 thanks to hundreds of our agents, managers, their families and friends. Our team of volunteers pitched in to make a difference on Coastal Cleanup Day, California’s single-largest volunteer event.
Teams were comprised of our San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara county offices. Together we combed through the sands and streets for three hours, hauling off hundreds of pounds of debris. Each person wore a custom-designed T-shirt emblazoned with “Giving back to the community” in white letters on a solid background of Cabernet.
