Ballet Arte is bringing a holiday classic to La Jolla for two days only. “The Nutcracker,” a timeless story of a young girl’s adventure, will be performed on Dec. 20 and 21. Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet is a holiday performance that can be enjoyed by family members of all ages.

La_Mesa_Christmas_Village

What:
The La Mesa Village Merchants Association gives the gift of holiday cheer to the local community with Christmas in the Village. This family-friendly event spans two days with a parade both nights. The parade starts promptly at 5 p.m. with a pre-parade salute to America at 4:30 p.m.

For the celebration, the Village will be transformed into a Victorian wonderland with strolling minstrels, carolers, street entertainers, food, commercial vendors, live music, bonfires, carnival rides, puppet shows and, of course, everyone’s favorite, Santa.

The annual Mission Bay boat parade is floating into view on Dec. 13. The parade features dozens of boats festively decorated with lights. The best viewing sites are Crown Point, the east side of Vacation Island and the west side of Fiesta Island.
