Composting and growing your own veggies are all the rage now, but where should you start? This water-wise composting and vegetable gardening class will teach you how to create a healthy biology for your lawn, how to make a potent compost tea, and the many ways to encourage and invite beneficial insects into your garden. The classes are presented by esteemed industry professionals whose goal is to promote efficient water use, the protection of local water supply and, of course, help your garden flourish. Meetings allow attendees to mix and mingle with fellow local gardening enthusiasts, and enjoy complimentary refreshments before and after presentations. Thousand Oaks is more than acre upon acre of suburban homes interrupted by shopping malls. It’s also home to 1,700-acre Wildwood Park, a sprawling recreational area featuring waterfalls, archeological sites, and an extensive multiuse trail system for hikers of all levels.
