In a move signifying his belief in the company’s values and brand reputation, Scott Brown has joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties to work as the Director of Agent Growth & Development and an expanded role as a Co-Director of our Commercial Division. As a sales manager of Compass, Scott was integral to its national expansion. He will be working alongside our senior leadership to help grow our footprint, and to provide exceptional insight and support to our 2,500 agents.

“Recruiting and retaining the industry’s top professionals is a key component of our business enterprise plan,” said Martha Mosier, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties company president. “It’s an essential strategy for ensuring that our agents and their clients continue to receive exceptional service and unparalleled commitment on every level.”

With over 34 years of diverse experience in real estate that includes working as a top-producing agent, leader and trainer, Scott has successfully navigated a variety of market cycles. He will be leveraging this experience to work closely with the executive leadership team, the existing leadership of the commercial division, as well as the training and education department.

“I’m excited to be with a brokerage that is more closely aligned with my morals and business philosophy,” said Scott. “The reputation of Berkshire Hathaway is very well-deserved.”

To that, Martha concludes: “We are equally excited that Scott found his place at California Properties. Talent like Scott Brown can go anywhere in this industry. We are honored Scott has made the choice to become a part of our family, and we feel his choice speaks volumes.”

Scott has an impeccable reputation and was known in his sales career for his strict adherence to the Golden Rule. Now in a significant leadership role, and along with developing solutions for complex transactional issues, Scott’s experience includes teaching database marketing courses, contract review, and forecasting future trends, both in technology and within the industry as a whole.

“Real estate will always be a relationship business,” noted Scott. “A portion of mentoring and helping agents grow and develop includes preparing them for general concepts that may not appear to have much to do with the industry. In my experience, 85 percent of real estate is psychology.”

Scott is a graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Psychology. “It is very enjoyable for me to match agents with the training and resources that are the right fit for their individual strengths and goals,” he added.

Scott has served the community and real estate profession in a variety of ways, including as a chair of Pasadena Playhouse Association Economic Enhancement Committee. His background also includes serving as a director for the Pasadena-Foothills Association of Realtors (PFAR), and twice serving as a chair of the local Government Relations Committee for the association. He is currently a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for PFAR.
