What:
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Elyse Graham studied metal-smithing at Otis College of Art and Design in high school before continuing on to study studio art and semiotics at Brown University. After a few years teaching and exploring the U.S., she returned to L.A. to found her line of art objects – specifically a series of geodes and vessels. Graham’s current body of work started with a fascination with balloons and their ability to hold a volume of breath. The geodes were an experiment that encapsulated a cluster of breath, making a moment in time last forever, and vessels were fueled by her intrigue of casing an object in a mold formed by an invisible force.
