Mary Lee Blaylock, President and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, has once again been recognized as an industry leader in the San Diego 500.
The San Diego 500, The Book of Influential Business Leaders, is the market’s most comprehensive compilation of people you should know in the business community.
As stated by the San Diego Business Journal, “The 500 includes business leaders and executives who have founded or are running significant companies in terms of number of jobs, key products, and services, experts who raise the level of the industry here and beyond, and those who lead in the business community.”
From appearing on industry podcasts alongside leaders and legends to opening four new offices in 2017, Mary Lee has accomplished much within the last year to deserve this recognition.
With nearly 3,000 agents and hundreds of managers and staff spread throughout 60 offices from San Diego to Santa Barbara, it can be challenging for a leader to reach individuals on a weekly or even monthly basis.
Mary Lee addresses that challenge with her Monday Morning Minute. She posts a short video to her Facebook page each Monday morning before 8 a.m. and shares a special message for the week. She began this tradition in late 2016, and it quickly became a favorite for agents, managers, staff, and her more than 3,000 followers.
Throughout 2017, her videos amassed thousands of likes and shares, plus thousands of views each week. Her leadership style matches her honest and inspiring personality, which is evident in each video she shares, and gives us a look into who she is and her vision for the company.
You can follow Mary Lee on Facebook so you never miss a Morning Minute.
In 2017, Mary Lee introduced REimagine, a company-wide event where agents, managers, and staff came together to learn about industry news, success within our company, new tools introduced to agents, as well as a brand-new look for the brand.
Acting as emcee, Mary Lee took to the stage to introduce speakers such as Tom Ferry, Gino Blefari, and Ron Peltier. She shared the story behind our new brand campaign, Find Your Perfect, and boosted company morale with her high energy and obvious commitment to the company’s growth.
This year, in February, she will host the second REimagine event, which already promises to be an even bigger success with a higher turnout than the inaugural.
One brand-new branch office opened in 2017, and three branch offices moved into contemporary spaces.
Agents can now reach and serve a whole new community, thanks to our brand-new Olivenhain office, led by San Diego manager Liz Piccolomini. Plus, in the first week of 2018, a new office, Montecito Midtown, opened thanks to growth and success under the leadership of Kyle Kemp, making it the second expansion office in Montecito opened under Mary Lee’s watch.
In addition to reaching new markets, several existing offices now have brand-new locations, satisfying the desire to improve and meet agent and client demands. Our Beverly Hills office now has a prestigious storefront location on Rodeo Drive which features a modern, collaborative workspace. The opening was celebrated with live music, a silent auction benefit, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and more.
The corporate headquarters, located in Del Mar Heights, San Diego, also moved to a chic new building with cutting-edge amenities all geared toward a positive employee environment.
Ladera Ranch agents now have a new office space that allows our Orange County agents to further growth in their business.
Though these accomplishments just scratch the surface of what Mary Lee and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties achieved in 2017, it’s safe to say that 2018 is shaping up to be another great year for our agents, managers, staff, and clients.
