More beer, more music, more food, and–thanks to its growing popularity–more restrooms will be on tap at this year’s Newport Beach Beerfest. The all-inclusive event on the sandy beaches of Newport Dunes Resort will offer unlimited samples of more 100 craft beers, wines, and spirits, plus more food trucks than ever. DJs will get the crowd on its wobbly feet. Live bands scheduled include Metro Station, Fire in the Hamptons, and Scott Russo of Unwritten Law. VIP tickets include early admission, entrance to the VIP lounge and more.

He was born and raised in Tennessee, but Huell Howser literally traveled to all four corners of California. The genial host of “California’s Gold” and other PBS TV series not only produced 443 episodes about icons in the Golden State, but also became one himself.
Every place he visited, Howser connected on camera and off with the locals, other visitors, and occasional celebrities he casually interviewed over 18 seasons. Although he denied it, he became a celebrity himself. The proof: He was parodied twice on “The Simpsons,” even lending his own voice to his animated character. “Ah-may-zing!” and “That’s great!,” his oft-repeated descriptions of people, places, and things that excited him, became catchphrases among his loyal viewers.

Earth Day, though celebrated in April, should be every day! Bring your friends and family and join the many others who will be celebrating the beauty of our planet at the Orange County Earth Day Celebration. Activities for all ages will engage and inspire, such as the compost workshop, arbor walk, and children’s garden workshop. You can participate in a free e-waste collection, lend a hand installing an innovative new agricultural exhibit at the Farm + Food Lab, and shop local at the Orange County Great Park Farmers Market. With so much to see and learn, you will be sure to be inspired all the way up until next year’s festival to do your part to keep our Earth clean and beautiful.
