There’s nothing quite like piloting a Rolls-Royce, and nothing quite like stepping out of one either. The British maker’s newest model, the Wraith, makes no excuses for its luxurious largesse. This vehicle is as much about making a grand entrance at a Buckhead valet as it is about taking a glorious drive.
So, full steam ahead, and once you set a course, the Wraith plows forward with a take-no-prisoners authority. This two-door fastback boasts a German-built twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces an astonishing 624 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the Wraith surges from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, a run that imparts a sense of effortless power to whomever assumes the wheel. The giddyup isn’t blazing—this is Rolls-Royce after all—but the Wraith is one of the most performance-forward autos the Goodwood factory has yet produced. An innovative Satellite Aided Transmission uses GPS data to anticipate gear selections based on upcoming terrain, creating an unmatched level of smoothness that makes shifts barely perceptible.

Paradise can be described as a state of delight—and for anyone who appreciates good food, fine wine and breathtaking oceanfront resorts, it can also be defined as Cayman Cookout.
I embarked on my maiden journey to the Caribbean’s premier culinary event this past January, and it’s safe to say it won’t be my last. Set to enter its eighth year, the annual epicurean celebration is co-hosted by The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and French chef Eric Ripert, whose flagship New York City restaurant, Le Bernardin, holds three Michelin stars. Each incarnation of the event brings world-famous chefs and wine and spirits experts together to contribute to island- and trends-inspired discussions, demonstrations and tastings. Last year’s extravaganza featured such luminaries as Anthony Bourdain, José Andrés and Rick Bayless, along with Daniel Boulud, Daniel Humm, Martin Picard and award-winning chefs from The Ritz-Carlton properties worldwide. All provided a source of constant (not to mention mouthwatering) entertainment in one of the most beautiful settings in the Caribbean.

For children around the world, Halloween is one of the best nights of the year. After all, when else can they dress however they choose and stock up on endless amounts of candy? While the spirit of the holiday is meant to be celebrated in good fun, Halloween can be dangerous if children and their parents aren’t careful. Follow these tips to ensure that you have both a spooky and safe Halloween.
- Plan your route. Planning in advance where you’ll be going can help you and your child stay on the same page and avoid getting lost. Some families may not live in a trick-or-treat-friendly area. If you’re traveling outside your neighborhood, consider showing your child the route before the holiday.
- Plan your group. Avoid trick-or-treating alone at all costs. If you can’t go with your child, ensure that they are with another trusted adult. Consider forming a group in your neighborhood to walk together. There is safety in numbers.
