With a goal of donating 777 pounds of food to the San Diego Food Bank, Candi DeMoura is hoping to bring luck and good cheer into the lives of some deserving San Diego families. DeMoura is currently accepting donations at her weekly open houses for the food drive which runs until December 22. Information about drop-off locations can be found on her website.

“I would like to thank everyone that donated last year! The 390 pounds of food we raised allowed for 325 meals to be provided for people in need,” said DeMoura.

Recent data from the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS® indicate that home sales continued to increase in September. Throughout the month, sold listings varied by about 2 percent. Sales of single-family resale homes decreased by 2 percent in September compared to August, but sales of condo/townhouses increased by 2 percent.

The inventory in the market continued to steady with about three months’ worth of active listings; six months is considered a healthy-market inventory level. Overall, San Diego continues to be one of the best performing markets with homes spending an average of 40 days on the market. Real estate continues to move quickly when priced fairly.

Join real estate and financial services professional for the fourth annual Women in Real Estate Conference on Nov. 5. The conference is hosted by the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate and featured keynote speaker Jean Kane, CEO of Welsh & Colliers International and the 2014 executive chairman of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. Bess Wakeman and Jones Lang LaSalle will moderate a panel focused on the milliennial generation and how they will impact real estate markets and opportunities. Since opening its Beverly Hills luxury department store in 1994, Barneys New York has been a staple for the fashion-forward residents of Southern California. But like fashion, design trends change and a fresh perspective is needed to stay current. Steven Harris Architects was called upon to bring that fresh perspective to the recent renovation of the Beverly Hills location. Both the first and fifth floors have experienced a chic remodel. Included in the beauty department makeover is a new location on the lower level featuring 9,000 square feet of cosmetics, the addition of Crème de La Mer and Mila Moursi spa treatment rooms, and a Blow Bar by Valery Joseph.

An epic drought requires an epic response. The San Diego City Council approved groundbreaking water-use restrictions to go into effect on Nov. 1, 2014, that will dramatically affect all 1.3 million residents of America’s eighth-largest city.

Voluntary conservation efforts began in July, but the San Diego residents must conform to the following new restrictions to curtail their water use or face escalating levels of fines other legal sanctions:
