Carlsbad real estate agent

Bryan Devore, an agent at our Carlsbad office, raised almost $1,300 on Mr. Credit’s “The Real Estate Debate: Charity Challenge!” special edition of “The Real Estate Debate,” a regularly broadcast program on AM 760 KFMB radio.

The funds benefited Casa de Amparo, a leader since 1978 in treating and preventing child abuse and neglect in San Diego County and beyond. With service to more than 1,000 children ranging from prenatal to age 25, Casa de Amparo (Home of Protection) provides residential, counseling, and child-development services, among many other functions, at its San Marcos facility and elsewhere.

The contest focused on a number of hot-button issues that affect homebuyers and sellers throughout San Diego County. Topics included the relationship between average days on market vs. the current two-month inventory of property, a challenge to provide a quick description of the San Diego real estate scene, and taking a stand on one side of the debate of whether dual representing buyer and seller is a benefit or a hazard for either party.

This year marked an unprecedented achievement for Joan Schultz, as her clients and peers once again voted her a recipient of San Diego Magazine’s “Five Star: Best in Client Satisfaction Real Estate Agents” award. Schultz is now a seven-time winner of the award, which is the result of a survey of more than 31,000 recent home buyers, subscribers and industry experts.

Agents were rated on their service, communication, integrity, negotiation, market knowledge, and closing preparation. “I am very proud of this because the standard of service that I provide is something I focus on every day,” noted Schultz, a San Diego resident since 1972. “It’s very gratifying to think that my clients voted for me.”

Karen Hickman of our La Jolla office has again earned San Diego’s Five Star Best award in customer satisfaction for 2015. This prestigious award is a response to the results of an independent survey that polls more than 30,000 recent homebuyers in the San Diego area on their experience during purchases.

“There are few things in our business as important as client satisfaction, and being recognized as excelling in that area is an honor,” Hickman said. “In our industry, we help people find homes to build their dreams, and knowing that people trust me to help them along that path is one of the reasons I love my career so much.”

In addition, Hickman has ranked No. 2 for Most Homes Sold by an Individual Agent in the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties La Jolla office through the third quarter of 2014. (more…)

Alfredo Garcia

Alfredo Garcia, recently promoted to manager of our Chula Vista Eastlake Village office, likes the diversity of his new position. Born in Mexico City, he is fluent in Spanish and English, as are many of his 66 agents.

“The Chula Vista office serves a true blend of ethnicities, which is an advantage being so close to the Mexican border,” Garcia said. “Our agents speak the languages of several South American countries, such as Argentina. Some speak Vietnamese and Filipino. One woman speaks five languages. It’s a wonderful mix.

“I like to help build confidence in all of my agents so they can build trust and satisfaction with their clients. We give them the best tools and resources to succeed. New agents are very impressed because of all the tools they receive as part of their training. I like seeing their big smile when they open their first escrow. Their success is my success.”
