To show appreciation for their contributions to the L.A. Chapter, The Charitable Foundation is partnering with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties and Pickford Escrow to host a fun-filled day at the Los Angeles Zoo for agents, employees and donors. The event takes place on November 15 from 10 a.m. until closing and will include free goodie bags for the children, breakfast and an opportunity to visit the Zoo’s newest exhibit, “Rainforest of the Americas.”
The event is being made possible in part due to the L.A. Chapter’s business level sponsorship of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association. “We are proud that we have been able to contribute resources to the zoo and their programs for over 10 years,” said Natalie Hill, foundation manager. “I would like to thank everyone at the zoo for making this happen, especially Jan Frazier, director of corporate and foundation relations.” (more…)

It’s no secret that home prices and school ratings have a correlation. Homebuyers with children or plans to have them want to buy a home in an area with good schools. This trend drives up home prices in those areas, meaning buyers pay a bit more for homes in highly rated school districts.
A recent study by realtor.com® showed that the most popular cities and schools were viewed using the site’s “search by school” feature. The study found that millennials were less likely than any other age group to compromise on school districts during their home search. This trend indicates that many current buyers in the real estate market are looking to start a family in their next home or that they already have young children.
