He patented them in 1922, along with a liquefier blender, and soon they were in use at soda fountains around the country to whip up malted milkshakes.

If there is a better combination than tacos and tequila, it has yet to be found. The Tacos and Tequila Festival will feature 10 margaritas from 10 mixologists, and signature tacos from 10 restaurants. Voting cards will be distributed so you can pick your top three margaritas and top two cantinas. There will also be a beer garden–in case tequila isn’t enough–where you can enjoy 5-ounce samples of local and regional craft beer. Music by Siddhartha, Scott Russo, Los Hollywood, and more will entertain at this 21-and-over event in downtown San Diego.

Take in the thrills and spills of athletics at the American Kennel Club Dog Agility Competition. Dogs and their handlers of every experience and training level race against the clock as they take on obstacles and courses that require concentration, training, and teamwork. More experienced dogs usually take the field first, and the afternoon is reserved for newcomers to the agility scene. Admission is free and seating is wherever you can find it. And if you think the Agility Competition might be a great way for you and your pup to get involved in some mutual exercise, agility trainers are usually on site both days to point you in the right direction.
