The Charitable Foundation has donated $10,000 to support foster children, who on average live in seven homes during their lifetimes.
In addition, The Foundation is “adopting” Boy 5A, a statue of a 4-year-old who represents the more than 20,000 children currently in the Los Angeles County foster-care system. The hybrid fiberglass-material statue stands four feet tall and was created by Pasadena sculptor and visual artist protégé Matthew “Scout” Segotta. It will be on display at seven public spaces for seven weeks around the county to represent the seven homes of a foster child. (more…)

To show appreciation for their contributions to the L.A. Chapter, The Charitable Foundation is partnering with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties and Pickford Escrow to host a fun-filled day at the Los Angeles Zoo for agents, employees and donors. The event takes place on November 15 from 10 a.m. until closing and will include free goodie bags for the children, breakfast and an opportunity to visit the Zoo’s newest exhibit, “Rainforest of the Americas.”
The event is being made possible in part due to the L.A. Chapter’s business level sponsorship of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association. “We are proud that we have been able to contribute resources to the zoo and their programs for over 10 years,” said Natalie Hill, foundation manager. “I would like to thank everyone at the zoo for making this happen, especially Jan Frazier, director of corporate and foundation relations.” (more…)

With delicious Mexican cuisine from the Bazaar del Mundo family of restaurants and fine tequila tastings from Tequila Fortaleza, this year’s Fiesta Mexicana hosted by Rosamaria Acuña of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties promises to surpass all expectations. Acuña is combining the event, to be held on November 8 at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park, with the Friends of Scott Foundation’s Holidays with Hope/Viva Los Ninos fundraiser honoring Childhood Cancer Awareness month.
A silent auction will be held to support the Friends of Scott Foundation’s mission to help children with cancer and their families. The event will feature live Mariachi music from Mariachi Garibaldi, with director Jeff Nevin, a folkloric performance, dancing, an inspirational speaker, and a presentation of the Scotty Delgadillo scholarship awards. Agent Sarah Robinson is teaming up with her parents to support the Special Olympics of Southern California’s annual Fall Games, which will be held December 13 and 14 in Fountain Valley and Irvine. The director of entertainment and ceremonies for the games for 15 years, Robinson volunteers alongside her parents, Jim and Rhonda Dusa, also residential real estate specialists.
“My entire family acts as one big volunteer unit for the games throughout the year for both the Summer and Fall Games,” comments Robinson. (more…)
